I love ALL my brothers and sisters, ALL of them. When will the day come that we all love one another???? I would hope that the church would be different than the world, but how can it be when both are filled with sinful people???

War Room – Preview of New Kendrick Brothers Film

On May 21, I was invited to preview the next movie in the line of films by the Kendrick Brothers. If you are not familiar with who they are, these are the filmmakers that brought us Fireproof, Facing The Giants and Courageous.

The Kendrick Brothers are Christian filmmakers that have taken us on several journeys that cover the gamut from marriage, to faith and back to fatherhood. This time that trip takes on an a voyage to restore our faith and ability as it pertains to prayer.

The film is the story of an African-American family that is in turmoil. The disparity between the husband, wife and little daughter is acted out incredibly by a magnificent cast, Patricia Striver, T.C. Stalling, and Alena Pitts. They are a young family is distress as they appear to have it all. But the one thing missing is God.

Along comes an incredible older African-American woman, played by Karen Abercrombie. Her character steals the show, and steers the movie. Her no nonsense approach to helping the young wife and mother to realize who is trying to destroy her marriage and family is direct and will lead you from laughter to tears.

The story is one that opens that door to being clear on the importance of prayer. Using prayer and the power it has as a weapon against the true enemy that invades our relationships. We spent more time fighting each other than fighting the enemy. War Room is a film that helps to show us who the enemy really is, how we can build a strategy to beat him and how to put that strategy into action.

It will be in theaters starting on August 28. I was able to see it early and I am very glad that I did. The Kendrick Brothers have,  once again, brought us a film that is well worth seeing.

I would encourage everyone to have a look at this incredible film. Not often do we get to see films that give us Godly values, and too far often do we see them with African-Americans in premier roles.
